What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be responsible for designing steel structures and connections, ensuring buildability, compliance, and production efficiency. Your role will include:
- Designing steel structures, steel-to-steel connections, and interfaces with concrete
- Producing detailed calculations and sketches for client approval and fabrication
- Using IDEA StatiCa, Tekla Structures, and Robot Structural Analysis to support your designs
- Applying SCI Green Book methodology to ensure compliance and quality
- Collaborating with project managers to align design with construction needs
- Reviewing client drawings and specifications to identify design requirements
- Supporting preconstruction teams with technical input at tender stage
- Mentoring junior engineers and reviewing their work for quality assurance
- Responding to design queries from clients, architects, and contractors
What We’re Looking For
We’re after someone with a degree in Structural Engineering (a Master’s is a bonus), who is either chartered or actively working towards it. You’ll have solid experience designing steel structures and connections, and be confident using tools like IDEA StatiCa, Tekla Structures, and Robot Structural Analysis. A strong grasp of SCI Green Book methodology is essential, along with a good understanding of industry standards and regulations. You’ll be someone who can mentor junior engineers, work well with others, and communicate clearly across teams.
