We have an excellent new opportunity within our Design and Engineering team! We are on the hunt for a Senior Structural Engineer, leading the delivery of complex projects from concept to construction. You’ll develop safe, efficient, buildable solutions while working closely with project and site teams and supporting the growth of junior engineers.
What you’ll do
· Lead structural design and analysis for complex projects across infrastructure and built environment sectors
· Develop and manage structural models, calculations, technical reports and detailed design deliverables
· Produce and review engineering drawings, ensuring accuracy, quality and buildability
· Coordinate design interfaces across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
· Ensure all designs comply with Eurocodes, UK standards and CDM requirements
· Collaborate closely with project managers and site teams to align design solutions with construction methodologies
· Provide technical support during fabrication and construction phases, including site visits where required
· Identify and resolve engineering challenges, driving practical and efficient design solutions
· Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments and quality assurance processes
· Mentor and support junior and early-career engineers, providing technical guidance and oversight
· Promote continuous improvement and uphold Kilnbridge’s safety-first and quality-driven culture
What you’ll need
· Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
· Near Chartered or Chartered status with ICE or IStructE
· Strong experience in structural design and analysis within consultancy or contractor environments
· Proficiency in design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, IdeaStatica, Robot, ETABS and Tedds
· Solid understanding of relevant codes and standards, including Eurocodes and UK design requirements
· Experience working across project lifecycles from concept through to construction
· Ability to produce clear, accurate and well-structured technical documentation
· Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering practical, buildable solutions
· Effective communication skills and experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
· A proactive approach to mentoring and supporting junior engineers
